January Song ft. Maryann Corrigan
JANUARY SONG
Januarys song, was cold and dank
A lion in winter, a stroll in the park
Alone and abandoned; smiling through it all
Pretending everything was fine;
Tricking my mind; standing still in time
Februarys warmth, began the thaw
Awakening spirit; shined through it all
Surging emotions; flowed from within
I didn’t look back; on the darkness again
Marching on in the light, A new journey begins
***
Knights in white satin; fair maids in a row
Twirling in motion; how was I to know
Aprils innocence; bloomed in my heart
So many feelings, no room for the dark
May I explain, how my life took flight
Soaring in silence; one dark spring night
Taming the lion, that stalked me in fright
He looked in my eyes, and stared into my soul
Touched me so deeply, made me so bold
***
Yes , Januarys song was cold and dark
That Lion in winter, that stroll in the park
No longer alone, now out of the dark
And no more standing still in time
I am always in motion and full of joy inside
That lion taught me, how to be proud
And stand up tall and realize
that underneath it all, I matter in this world
Those amber eyes, comforted my heart
And made me know, that I was a part of
something so much bigger, than just myself

Words of Halkios for this Collab
Some things in Life, are meant to be; are meant to happen and meant to meet. Somehow like this January, a Song made by a beautiful poet, met the Rain of an equaly beautiful Musician David Gray; and That Lion in the Winter, that was just passing by through another Artist of a kind, our friend Robert; who by painting his emotion made it right...
Words of Maryann for this Collab
Brother of my soul, your words in this introduction are so beautiful. It is true like you say, I believe...; well, we both believe, that in this life there is no such think as coincidence. Our paths crossing,my writing this poem, and Rob's art ...all were only bonded perfectly when you found the music and put all of the pieces together and created this masterpiece.I thank you from the bottom of my heart.Love you, my friend.~m
